Homework assignments will be posted below as they are issued. You are allowed to discuss the homework with other members of the class, and to consult books, papers and the Internet, but you must write up your solutions yourself, and they should reflect your understanding. In accordance with the norms of scholarly behavior, you should acknowledge any sources of assistance that you use. The instructor reserves the right to refuse to accept late homework for any reason.

EXAMS & GRADING

There will be a midterm exam and a final exam. The exam dates and formats will be discussed in class and posted below.

Course grades will be based on the following percentages:

Homework:	45%
Midterm:	20%
Final Exam:	35%

Both exams will be take home.

The instructor reserves the right to refuse late exams.
