Writing HTML Templates

Getting an HTML template page to work the way you want it is much harder than most people would expect. In addition to the aesthetic choices necessary, you must also include a certain level of didactic content such that the end users will be able to understand how the page works well enough to be able to substitute their own content for that provided by the template's author. On a good day, though, you can manage both tasks with aplomb.
