- I received my grade school education from Hermosa View
- I received my junior high education at Hermosa Valley Middle School
- I received my high school education from Redondo Union High School
- I did four years undergraduate work in the Mathematics Department at Harvey Mudd College and there received a B.S. in Mathematics. My advisor and mentor there was mathemagician Art Benjamin.

I received my PhD in mathematical sciences from the
Dept of Math Sciences at
The Johns Hopkins University. My thesis advisor was
Ed Scheinerman.
Stuff
I successfully defended my dissertation on June 5th, 1997, so now I have a PhD! The title of my dissertation is Selected Topics in Fractional Graph Theory, and you can download the whole thing here. I moved back to L.A. that summer, and spent a year doing computer programming for Compulink. But at the moment, I have that academic job I was looking for... I'm teaching mathematics at Harvey Mudd College!
The contents of my dissertation are also appearing (hopefully) as three journal papers...
