One model for the structure of space-time is R3,1. In this model there are three possible spatial coordinates and one time coordinate. We can try to understand R3,1 using a simpler model, R1,1, in which there is only one space coordinate (that is, only one direction to move in) and one time coordinate.

The Special Relativity Worksheet investigates "distances" between points in the R1,1 model of space-time. The problems are adapted from a college-freshman-level physics course created by John Boccio, with his kind permission.
